Selenium RC: Is a tool which allows to automate web application using any of the programming language that supports. User can create simple scripts and export to selenium RC or Webdriver. Selenium IDE: Which is a firefox plug-in which deals with and playback mechanism. This is the main reason why most of the companies choose Selenium whenever they want to automate Web applications
As every one aware that QTP is Licensed Tool AND Selenium is Open source tool, download it configure it and enjoy. There are others tool which can be used to automate both web applications and windows applications like QTP (Quick Test Professional). Options.Selenium is a web Automation tool which can used to perform testing ONLY on Web Applications not Desktop based applications. Options.add_argument('fault_directory=/etc/selenoid/download') I'm also setting the fault_directory when setting the options of the driver. So selenium Grid should have permissions to create/delete/edit files/folders within that directory. My server does have an /etc/selenoid/download directory as well and the my_username:myusername owns that directory. So this looks like the default download path, which is ignoring my -downloads-path argument. I'm running the Selenium-grid standalone server on Ubuntu using this command java -jar selenium-server-4.8.0.jar standalone -downloads-path /etc/selenoid/downloadīut when the driver downloads files they are being downloaded to the path of "/home/my_username/" which is where I'm running the server from the command line at.
